Recruiting Posters

Some time ago, a rare recruiting poster from the 1920's, printed by Gale and Polden and an important document from the Boer War relating to The Imperial Yeomanry were purchased for the museum by the Friends see our Documents page. When the Hampshire County Council were running the museum, posters were produced from these documents and were displayed in the portal leading to the military section of the museum.

Over time, the poster started to fade and wear and were in need of replacement. The Friends have had the poster reprinted. Here are some pictures of the installation by Digital Factory on the 23rd November 2016.

The costs of the posters and the installation were funded by a bequest in memory of Peter Jenner, who passed away this year (2016). A plaque is has been produced and fixed to the wall near the posters.
